The Ascensionist 55 by Patagonia is a big, robust backpack that is not only suitable for long approaches, but also for trekking tours or expeditions with light luggage. It is particularly good for climbing approaches, because its 55-litre volume offers plenty of space, while it also has practical features that climbing aces simply can’t do without.
But before we start with its compartments and holders, one or two words about the material: The Ascensionist is made mainly of recycled polyamide, which is super strong and therefore extremely durable. The main fabric is also Bluesign-certified, which means that a great deal of attention has been paid to sustainability during production. Recycled polyester is also used on the inside, meaning this touring backpack has all the best materials for demanding activities. The backpack is highly water-repellent thanks to its PU coating and DWR finish, so that your backpack contents stay dry for a long time.
And now for the features: In addition to the spacious main compartment, which offers plenty of room for your equipment, there is also an attachment for ice tools so that the sharp tips don’t damage your backpack or its contents. There is also an easily accessibly inside pocket for small essentials, a three-point rope attachment, and compression straps to keep the contents of the backpack nice and compact. Two lightweight aluminium struts are integrated into the backpack to support heavy loads and to prevent the Ascensionist from moving with your body. In short: You will be perfectly equipped for your next adventure with this backpack!
